About
The Composites Design class teaches the fundamentals of composite material analysis. Throughout the course, I learned how to model and predict the behavior of composite structures using tools such as simple composite beam theory and classical laminate theory (CLT). The class culminated in writing custom code capable of analyzing any laminate using CLT, and applying that analysis to design a carbon fiber I beam bridge. This bridge was put into a competition against other universities, of which it was the highest strength to weight ratio of all bridges entered at 17.14 lbf/g.
